Safety
Bob Whitton started his career with Viking in February 2009. Prior to that he worked as a Safety Director for Masson Construction and also York & Curtis. During his time with York & Curtis, Bob was instrumental in leading the company to reduce their "experience rating" from a 1.05 down to a .59. A very impressive number and one we at Viking strive to have. Bob has had, and continues to participate in extensive safety certifications and training programs. Bob has been the leader in redesigning the Viking Safety Manual for all employees. Bob has a passion for safety and has brought to Viking an awareness much needed for safety not only to protect the employees from harm but also to be competitive in todays' construction industry.
Viking is currently enrolled in the ISNetworld Safety Program and PIC Auditing Safety Program, both have high safety ranking status. Viking employees pride themselves on having a safe work environment for both themselves and their customers. Employees are trained in both CPR and First aid with refresher courses as needed, as a viable company we have a vital interest in accident and loss prevention. Accidents and loss prevention are the responsibility of every employee regardless of tenure.
Therefore, the policy of Viking Automatic Sprinkler Company is to provide employee training, safe equipment, safe working practices and safe working environments for all of its employees and to promote a concentrated effort to better control property damage, equipment and material damage or loss. Each worker has personal responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of co-workers. Safety is your responsibility and cannot be delegated to someone else. Everyone depends upon you, as a member of a team, to be aware of safety and always act in a safe manner. Each worker will report all accidents, injuries, near misses and unsafe conditions to the foreman or supervisor.
